Seawater desalination project

Seawater desalination projects are engineering projects that utilize seawater desalination technology to convert seawater into fresh water. Seawater desalination is not limited by geographical location and can provide a stable water source for coastal areas, playing a significant role in the diversified supply of water resources. The global development of seawater desalination technology has been rapid. By the end of 2022, the global desalination capacity had exceeded 100 million tons per day, and the daily output of desalinated water was 631 million tons. It is widely used and has become the main water source in the Middle East and some island regions. China has also made significant progress in the field of seawater desalination, but the scale of existing seawater desalination projects in China is less than 3% of the global total, and the production capacity is insufficient.
